Come join Joyce and me as we enjoy the beautiful falls, dams, and trails at Cochran Mill! My first hike with the AOC was at this park and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Cochran Mills - West Side Trails We’ll be hiking just about all of the trails of the Cochran Mill Park. After meeting promptly at 8:30 AM in the parking loop we'll hit the West Side Trails - some of the sites include an old unmarked cemetery and a brand new trail to the lovely Henry Mill Falls. After taking a short break at the falls, we'll return along some of the same trails back to the parking area where we'll be able to take a short restroom break. Cochran Mills - East Side Trails After our short break, we'll cross the road and cover all the trails on the East Side. We’ll enjoy the Cochran Mill Falls, wonderful scenic wooded trails, a few wonderful dams (including one used for a pivotal scene in season 2 of The Walking Dead), and wonderful views alongside Little Bear Creek and Bear Creek. ***The total hike distance will be around 12 miles and we’ll be hiking at a moderate pace – this is NOT a hike for beginners*** (Optional) Lunch and Cupcakes! We have now earned lunch and cupcakes! We'll have a short drive of only 7 miles over to the Blue Eyed Daisy Bakery in Serenbe, GA. The Blue Eyed Daisy Bakery won an episode of Cupcake Wars but you'll also find they have a great lunch menu as well. After the hike, it is optional if you would like to join us for some cupcakes, but I do hope you can join us for our well- earned lunch and tasty desserts. | |||||||
