The weather this week looks miserable . . . until Friday! Let's celebrate the sun with a morning rain-free hike at Vickery Creek!

The Vickery Creek section of the Chattahooche National Recreation Area contains many miles of interconnected hiking trails. Our plan is to hike about five miles miles of these trails which include some sections of rocks and roots as well as some easy-to-maneuver sections.

This will be a moderately fast hike. so it is not a hike for beginners or for folks who can't handle a 3+ mph pace on hilly, often rocky terrain. If you're new to the AOC or haven't done any D3's, I may call you to check on your ability to handle the hike. I won't leave anyone behind, so we will have to slow down the pace if someone can't keep up.

We are starting and parking on Oxbo Road. The lot is ON Oxbo Rd. Parking is free at this location.

We will meet at the Oxbo parking lot on Oxbo Road, off of Route 9/120, Atlanta Street, Roswell GA. There is a gas station on the corner of Atlanta Street and Oxbo where you have to turn. The lot is on your right about 1/2 mile down the road.

Notes:

Sorry - - no restroom facilities at this entrance. If you have enough time, you can use the Roswell Mill entrance bathroom before driving on to Oxbo Road.

The weather will be chilly in the morning, but warming some during the hike. A removable layer of clothing is recommended.
