Itinerary:

Join us for a short mellow Saturday morning bike ride on the Silver Comet. We'll start from the well known Silver Comet Depot Bike Shop parking lot located right on the Silver Comet Trail at the 4.2 mile mark. We'll start out at 8:30 AM and take a bike cruise on the scenic trail towards Florence Road, take a social & snack break,  and turn around.  For those not familiar with it, the Silver Comet is a limited-access, converted rail trail with very few traffic crossings.  It's a cool place to enjoy a pleasant afternoon bike ride and mingle with other bike riders.  You choose your own biking speed..

**Helmet required to be worn on this bike ride.   No helmet, no ride..bye, bye

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

FROM ATLANTA:

  • Take I-20 west to Fulton Industrial Boulevard Exit (#49, near Six Flags) - exit to the right.
  • Go North for .5 mile and turn left on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (GA139).
  • Go about 7 miles (Martin Luther King Drive turns into Floyd Road after Highway 78, GA139 ends at the 78) and the Silver Comet Depot will be on your left just before you cross the Silver Comet Trail.
  • Go to the Silver Comet Depot Bike Shop parking lot located right on the Silver Comet Trail at the 4.2 mile mark

FROM WEST OF ATLANTA:

  • Take I-20 to exit 49 and turn LEFT on Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Follow as above.

FROM EAST OF ATLANTA:

  • Take I-20 to exit 49 and turn RIGHT on Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Follow as above.

FROM NORTH/SOUTH OF ATLANTA:

  • Take I-75 or I-85 to Atlanta, switch directly to I-20 or via the perimeter (I-285) to I-20 westbound. Follow as above.
