Itinerary:

Henderson Park in Tucker, GA, is a real jewell right outside the perimeter in Dekalb County, and "one of the more hidden trail systems in the metro area" (Hiking Atlanta's Hidden Forests). The 103 acre park is home to the Tucker Youth Soccer Association with lots of soccer fields. However, it has a 2.5 mile lollipop loop where you will see a small cascading water fall, magnificent hardwood trees and wildlife. We will follow this trail that towards the banks of Lake Erin. There are no significant climbs. To add some steps to your pedometer, we will take the branching trails back to the soccer field and will walk around the paved area that connects with the community garden. The pace will be fast.

We will meet at the soccer fields parking lot and start the hike promptly at 5:00 pm. We should be finished by 6:30 pm.

P.S. Do not leave valuables in the car.

From I-285

[1] Take Exit 37 - LaVista Road
[2] Turn left (east) onto LaVista Road and go about 1.8 miles and turn left onto Henderson Road.
[3] Continue around 0.8 miles and turn right onto the first entrance to the soccer fields parking lot.

Notes:

A maximum of 3 friendly dogs are permitted on this hike. They must be on a leash at all times and you must pick up after your pets per park rules.
