Itinerary:

The hike is approximately 12 miles round trip with an average hiking speed and a few rest breaks. We're going to start at the back of the park store, and hike up the East Trail Ridge to the Hike Inn and back - via Len Foote Trail. We should be back in Atlanta mid afternoon.

Note: The East Ridge Trail at Amicalola Falls is actually the first mile of a much longer trail, the Southern Terminus Approach Trail to the start of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia on Springer Mountain. The East Ridge Trail climbs to the top of Amicalola Falls, rising an average of 80 feet for each 500 feet of trail. It is one of a handful of trails considered strenuous simply because of the climb.

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. We will gather at the Visitor Center parking lot near the entrance.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
