Itinerary:

Let's bid adieu to February with a loop up to Springer Mountain and back. We will start the hike from the top of the Amicalola Falls and hike the AT Approach to Springer Mountain. On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few minutes to enjoy our BYO lunch and perhaps a welcome cup of coffee or hot chocolate. We usually luck into some homemade desserts, too. (Bring some tip money for the friendly, hard-working staff at the Hike Inn). After our break we will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the parking lot.

Note, this is not a beginner hike.

Hiking gear appropriate for the trail and weather conditions

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. We will make a very brief pit stop at the Visitor Center before driving up to park at the Top of the Falls parking lot.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
