Itinerary:

This is our second of 5 hikes today to celebrate Mexico's Cinco de Mayo!  Join us on one of them, two of them, or even all of them, if you like!  Wear a sombrero and get into the spirit of the day!  We'll take a break between hikes 3 and 4 to have a Mexican lunch at Tijuana Joe's on Roswell Road (Sandy Springs). Lunch will take place around 2 pm.  Join us!

This hike will be a fast one at one of our favorite trails - - Vickery Creek. We'll hike for two hours, covering most of the trails inside the unit. This hike is NOT one for beginners or for folks who can't keep up a fast pace over rocky, root-laden terrain.

We will start on time (10:00 am), so please arrive a 10 minutes early to check in and do introductions. There is no bathroom at this location so plan to use the woods if necessary.

We are meeting at the Oxbo Road parking lot for this hike.   There is no parking fee at this location. Detailed directions are below. 

Due to our speed on this hike, we're requesting that no dogs come along.  
 
For folks who want to do a pleasant, leg-relaxing hike following this one, join us for the third hike of the day at Big Trees Preserve at 12:45 pm.  We'll be going to lunch after this hike at Tijuana Joe's to have a Cinco de Mayo lunch celebration!  Lunch will be at 2 pm, for those who can make it!

Fluids, good hiking shoes/boots

Hiking poles if you like to use them.  (Remember, there are elevation changes, roots and rocks a'plenty!)

We will meet at the Oxbo parking lot on Oxbo Road, off of Route 9/120, Atlanta Street, Roswell GA. There is a gas station on the corner of Atlanta Street and Oxbo where you have to turn.  The lot is on your right about 1/2 mile down the road.
