Itinerary:

Come join us as we stroll through a sea of daffodils at Gibbs Gardens, covering more than 50 acres in northeast Georgia. In the Spring, the garden features over 20 million daffodils in colors ranging from yellow to saffron to gold to orange, and blush pink.

Developed over a 30-year span by Jim Gibbs, the gardens are a blend of natural and man-made features covers 220 acres of landscaped gardens set amid rolling hills and includes 19 waterfalls, 24 ponds and 32 bridge crossings. The gardens are strategically designed in such a way that repeat visitors can frequent every 3 weeks and see something different happening on the grounds. The 40-acre Japanese Gardens, complete with 40 handcrafted lanterns, are the largest in the nation. Sculptures, representing Mr. Gibbs’ eleven grandchildren, can be found dotting the sculpture garden landscape. Residing on property are plants grown from cuttings passed down through the generations of his family.

Our plan is to arrive at the gardens by 9:00 AM to beat the (anticipated) crowds. Each person will be responsible for buying his/her own ticket.  Ticket prices for Gibbs Gardens are:

Adults (18 to 64 years old): $20 per person
Seniors (65+):  $18 per person
Tram tickets are  $5 per person and are good for one day.

People who pre-purchase their tickets can save $4 by buying their ticket online and ahead of time here:

Once we're in the gardens, we will designate a meetup location and then head out, maps in hand, for a self-guided, leisurely walking tour of the gardens. We encourage you to wander the gardens at your own pace, taking photos, chasing squirrels, and definitely stopping to smell the roses. Must smell the roses!

Getting hungry after all that flower-gazing? Unfortunately, outside food or drinks are not allowed inside the gardens. There is a cafeteria on the grounds, but we'd like something more substantial so at around noon (12:00) we will meet back at the designated spot and return to our cars. On the drive back to Atlanta, join us for an (optional) lunch stop at Cue Barbeque. BTW, if you will NOT be joining us for lunch, please let us know IN THE MORNING at Mansell P&R, so we can make appropriate carpool decisions.

In the event that it turns out to be a rainy day, the event will be cancelled.  Walking through a garden in the rain just doesn't do justice to the flowers. Pre-paid ticket prices can NOT be refunded.   The Atlanta Outdoor Club is not liable in any way for your purchase of pre-paid tickets.
Tickets, however, can be used any day (up until June 1st) that the gardens are open.
