Well we may as well start off the first weekday of DST with an after work hike. This one is at the Jones Bridge unit of the Chattahoochee NRA..certainly some of the finest parks in the Atlanta Metro area. Much of our walk will provide some scenic views of the Chattahoochee...and a good bit of it will be in the nearby woods.

There is very little elevation change along the trail...less than 500 feet of total ascent for the entire hike. We will stop for a snack break near the halfway point. The total distance should be approx 5 miles.

Sunset is at 7:41pm, but the park doesn't close until about 30 min after that, so as long as we are in our cars and leaving by around 8pm, we'll be ok.

Note: there is a $3 parking fee.

From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles to Jones Bridge Branch which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot at end of road.
