Itinerary:

From the Whitewater Creek entrance parking we follow a park trail along the Chattahooche River to the park boundary at I75. We then walk along a well marked trail until Cobb Pkwy (US 41), cross the bridge over the river, and get to the West Palisades parking after 1.5 miles. We then walk a 4.6 mile loop (of which about 2 miles are on paved roads or trails) that includes parts of Rottenwwod Trail, Cumberland Blvd and internal park trails. After returning to the West Palisades parking we cross back to the other side of the river and return to East Palisades the same way we came.

There is a $3 parking fee if you don't have an annual pass.

Required Items to Bring:

Good hiking shoes and plenty of water.

Recommended Items to Bring:

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From downtown Atlanta drive north on I 75 to Exit 256. At the bottom of the ramp take a right on Mt. Paran. After about 0.2 miles take a left onto Sentinel Post. Proceed 0.4 miles on Sentinel Post and turn right onto Whitewater Creek. After a further 0.4 miles you will see the park entrance on your left. Proceed to the trail parking at the end of the road.

Notes:

Parking fee is $3, to be paid in cash at the parking lot.
