Itinerary:

Urban Hike with 62 Flavors of Delight!

Get The Scoop

Join us for this evening 6-7 miles urban hike at Piedmont Park & the Beltline.  Our destination will be Jake's Ice Cream near Krog's Market to enjoy one of their 62 flavors of ice cold ice cream!   Along the way we will have a chance to enjoy the park views, Beltline art, and also drop in at the Ponce City Market for a quick rest stop and beverage of your choice on our return trip back.   What better way to enjoy a Sunday evening - get the scoop! (Remember to bring some change to pay for your beverage and/or favorite ice cream :)

We will meet promptly at 5:30 PM at the 14th Street gate in Piedmont Park.  This gate can be found at the intersection of Piedmont Road and 14th Street.  Please give yourself plenty of time to get here, especially if you are not familiar with the neighborhood.

There is plenty of paid parking near the meeting point. I like to park on the side streets near the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. There is a little pocket of free weekend parking that may be available. PLEASE give yourself plenty of time and pay careful attention to the parking signs. Also, give yourself ample time to travel by foot from your parking spot to the meeting point. If you take MARTA to the park, the closest station is Arts Center.

We will start our hike at the 14th Street gate, stroll through Piedmont Park, and glide onto the Beltline Section south for approximately 3-3.5 miles http://beltline.org/trails/eastside- trail/. At the half way mark, we will double back along the Eastside Trail section and re-enter Piedmont Park on the 10th Street side, then continue back to the 14th Street gate that way.

The total hiking distance will be around 6-7 miles at a moderate pace.

Finding our way to Jake's Ice Cream

Ice Cream Flavors

 The Flavor of Love

Whether you are among the newly converted or an old pro at the seemingly never-ending array of flavor choices at Jake’s, we’re pretty sure we have something for everyone. While famous for our Chocolate Slap Yo Mama and our Brown Shugah Vanilla, we have more than two hundred ice creams, sorbets, gelatos, sherbets, frozen yogurt and Joyscreams™ to tempt your taste buds. Most of our ice cream flavors are all natural and all of them are made with hormone free dairy and pure cane sugar.  None of them have shelf stabilizers or artificial flavors.

For our dairy free and vegan fans we have a huge variety of sorbets including everything from Tropical Sunshine to Very Berry to Margarita to Blueberry Basil and then some…and then some more!

And then there is our magical Joyscream™ and folks…this is seriously cool.  We have created a frozen treat that is the first of its kind in the world.  Joyscream™ is made entirely of delicious, nutritious goodness from the earth…and better yet…it is sweetened with the healthiest sugars (yes..we know healthy sugars???) on our beautiful planet.  We created this new sweetener ourselves and we couldn’t be more proud sharing it with you now!

We get asked often where we come up with our  “outside the boxness” of our flavors. We can only take partial credit because it is you, our beloved fans that have helped us develop most of our menu. Take a look here at what we’ve got in store for you… and call ahead to find out about our daily line up.

Vanillas
Brown Shugah Vanilla™– A very special vanilla made with brown sugar…our second most popular flavor!
Honey Vanilla– It’s the bee’s knees… that’s the buzz when natural golden sweetness meets tropical orchid.
Yo Daddy’s Vanilla– After the lawn was mowed, the game was watched, and the churn was turned there was… Yo Daddy’s Vanilla. Classic sweet cream base and pure vanilla.
Steve’s Thrillah Vanilla™ – Named after our bud Steve Schickler, former President & CEO of Edy’s-Dreyer’s Ice Cream- it’s replete with bean specks – Thanks Steve!
Vanilla Malt– Jake’s personal favorite, like an old fashioned malted the way you remember.

Chocolates
Chocolate Slap Yo Mama™ – Made with our signature chocolate sauce, chocolate chips and oreo cookies, this is the black sheep of cookies and cream. And it’s our most popular seller. Do NOT cuss your preacher!
Chocolate Cinnamon– Mmmmilk chocolate ice cream with a wisp of cinnamon.
Chocolate Raspberry Truffle– Who knew ice cream could be so decadent? Raspberries and chocolate dancing for joy in this sinful flavor.
Chocolate Peanut Butter– Our rich chocolate base with chocolate peanut butter cups and gobs of luscious peanut butter and more peanut butter cups and more…
Chocolate Pecan Piescream™– An entire pecan pie mixed into a chocolate base—a great twist on a Southern favorite!
Chocotella™– Hazelnut spread throughout our chocolate ice cream. We must be nuts… tell a friend.
German Chocolate Cakescream– A Bavarian treat made with coconut and pecan frosting, and lots and lots of chocolate.

The Rockiest Road™– Our road is bumpier and rockier, with more marshmallows, pecans and chocolate chips than the DOT allows.
Thin Mint– That classic Girl Scout cookie flavor swirled into classic Jake’s chocolate ice cream. Some traditions shouldn’t be messed with.
Jamocha Pecan Chip– Jake’s take on an old favorite. Chocolate ice cream jammin’ with coffee, pecans and chocolate chips.

Coffees
Cinnamon Kenya AA– Wake up and taste the coffee… and cinnamon! Made with ground espresso coffee beans, a hint of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla.
Coffee & Donuts™– Hot, fresh, now doughnuts dunked in coffee liqueur gone swimming in coffee ice cream.
Coffee Toffee – Coffee ice cream with more than a bit of Heath Bar bits.
Diesel Fuel– Our chocolate syrup in coffee ice cream, a dash of cinnamon and chocolate covered espresso beans for a delicious jolt.
Kenya AA – Wake up and taste the coffee… Made with fresh ground espresso coffee beans and a splash of vanilla HELLO!
Tiramisu Su Sudio™– To date, the most popular Flavah of the Month winner in Jake’s history. Coffee, more coffee, mascarpone cream and lady fingers…if that don’t pick you up, what will?

Caramels
Salted Caramel – Before it became all the rage, it was outrageous at Jake’s! We melt cane sugar to a gorgeous amber, add fresh cream until it’s perfection, then make our ice cream surround it and then sea salt…just enough for the salty sweet flavor.
Betwixed™– – And between, plenty of those yummy, crispy, chewy candy bars.
Delta’s Delight– created especially for Delta Air Lines with Biscoff cookies, caramel swirls and Irish cream whiskey. Jake’s way of saying thanks for 75 great years of customer service!
Elton’s Good Karma’l™ – Rich caramel ice cream with wee bit of Irish cream whiskey mixed in. The universe just got a little more balanced.

And Much More…
Banana Split– Chocolate chips, bananas, walnuts, cherries and our chocolate syrup — the whole shebang in a scoop.
Birthday Cake – A party in every scoop! Cake and frosting singing a happy tune in your ice cream will make you smile.
Blueberry – Fresh blueberries turned into a rich sauce, then mixed thru and thru. Just plain blueberries and cream.

B’s Strawberry Cheesecake– Inspired by our own B Seeger, strawberry ice cream with gobs of real cheesecake swirled in.
Better Pecan– ‘Cause ours is waaaaaaay better! Georgia pecans and fresh butter and brown sugar and… that’s all. Oh, and plenty of ’em.
