Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join us for a 10 mile exploratory urban loop hike beginning and ending at Piedmont Park.

We will see the Eastside Trail, Fourth Ward Park, Underground Atlanta, the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Centennial Olympic Park, Peachtree St, and Piedmont Park, ending back at Park Tavern.

We will make a stop at Historic Fourth Ward Park for an audubon society solar astonomy event that may include looking at the sun through a telescope.

The route includes a walk around the new mercedes-benz stadium.

We will hike as a group at a moderate pace. The entire hike will be on concrete or asphalt.

Meet at 11:50 am at Park Tavern (on the sidewalk near the parking lot attendant booth) in the southeast corner of Piedmont Park. The address is 500 10th St NE at the corner of Monroe.

Please give yourself plenty of time to get here as it can take some time to park.

There is a paid parking lot behind Park Tavern and at the SAGE parking garage inside Piedmont Park. Parking may also be availble on the side streets (please read signs carefully). The 10th street Marta station is one mile from Park Tavern.

Google is great for getting directions from anyplace in the city.
