This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Tucked away in a Tucker neighborhood is Henderson Park with 6 miles of trails. We will be exploring the Red, White and Blue trails, giving us about 5 miles of hiking. We will move at a moderate pace when we can, but take it easy when we need to. There will be roots and rocks on the path, spots that are narrow, rotting steps, stones we need to step on to cross the creek, so please wear hiking boots or shoes with good traction. And if you're not sure-footed, please use hiking poles.

We will meet by the yellow storage building at the far left side of the parking lot on Henderson Road (see detailed directions below). Please arrive a few minutes early for introductions, so we can leave on time at 10:00 and be done by noon.

Even though I've done this hike a few times and am familiar with the trails around the lake and to the waterfall, there are parts of the Blue and Red trails that I've yet to explore, so let's explore together.

Beginner's are welcome.

From I-285, get off on EXIT #37 LAVISTA ROAD

Go EAST for 1.5 miles, then turn LEFT onto Henderson Road

Go 1 mile and turn RIGHT into the parking lot
(Look for the rolling gate at the entrance. This is the parking lot for the soccer fields.)


We will be meeting at the far left side of the parking lot by the yellow storage building.
