Itinerary:
Join us for a simple Saturday morning 30-mile bike ride on the Silver Comet. We'll start just shy of mile marker 0, and ride out to Hiram, GA (mile 14.66) at which point we'll take advantage of some picnic tables (and a playground, if you're so inclined). For those not familiar with it, the Silver Comet is a limited-access, converted rail trail with very few traffic crossings.

Pack plenty of water, and as much food/Gu/bars as you think you'll want for the ride and the picnic tables in Hiram. We'll keep the pace comfortable for the group, and with the midpoint stop it should be a pleasant morning.

We don't recommend riding this on a mountain bike, for your own comfort. You MUST be able to perform your own bike maintenance should you have any mechanical issues. Please do not sign up if you are unable to complete the entire 30 miles; while it is an easy trail, first-time bike riders may find the distance to be a challenge.

We did this in Fall 2008 and our group had a great time.

From the Burger King/Publix parking lot, it's an easy .7 miles downhill to the start of the Silver Comet Trail.
