WHO IS READY FOR A WEEK DAY D4 THAT'S CLOSE TO HOME? Join me as we light up the trails with a quick stepping hike that will get that heart rate & step count up right out of the gates...This week day D4 training hike will see some nice elevation, as I take you along what I affectionately dub my "training grounds!" We might hit a coulple of the same paths twice but never in the same direction. Conditions have been a little sloppy, so be prepared for some loose terrain - trekking poles are always advised. Conveniently located in historic Roswell, GA, the historic "Vickery Creek" unit of the Chattahoochee River Nat'l Recreation Area (CRNRA) boasts an amazing variety of shady creekside and ridgetop trails and is one our Club's favorite places for hiking (mine for sure). This is a FAST hike along various trails at Vickery Creek (in a top secret special direction) and we'll only be re-grouping at the top of the steepest climb (to be announced before ascending). There are no formal stops planned since daylight is something we're racing. The average will be in the sub 18 minute miles for sure, but don't be surprised to see some 15 minute + miles. So, if you haven't been on any FAST AOC D4 hikes recently I may call to see if this if this is an appropriate hike for you. Safety first kids, safety first! Rain or Shine...althought I prefer the latter.

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | We will meet in the parking lot off of OXBO ROAD (south side, between Atlanta Street and Dobbs) The address is near ::: Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get head count and intros in...after all I'm a newbie I might even make y'all pose for a photo :) There are no bathrooms at this lot. The GPS link above is pretty accurate too. | ||||||
