Powers Island, Cochran Shoals Interstate North and Sope Creek

Please join me in exploring Cochran Shoals/Sope Creek/Powers Island 

Hike will be approximately 8 1/2 miles and just about 3 hours - we may be slightly over or under on the time or mileage- we will first hike the trails of Powers Island and then walk on the sidewalk at Interstate North Parkway for a very short distance and then pick up the trails on the other side of the river at Cochran Shoals, into parts of Sope Creek and then back.

D3 becuase of distance not elevation or difficulty.

$5.00 parking fee at the CRNRA parks - pass can be purchased at Kiosk in parking lot for $5.00 cash or if you already have the annual pass just display in your vehicle.

From 400 North or South - take 285 West - take exit 22 for NEW Northside Drive, at first light take a right (one way road) to continue on Northside Drive.  Continue straight and the road will change names to Interstate North Parkway (DO NOT get on Northside Drive NW)  take Interstate North Parkway about two miles and make a right on Riveredge Lane NW (just before you cross the river).  Don't pass it because you would have to completely loop around 285 and New Northside again - please give yourself additional driving time.
