Itinerary:

This hike takes us from Winding Stair Gap to Siler Bald on the Appalachian Trail. This time of year we should hopefully see some wild flowers blooming along the trail, and enjoy spectacular open all around view of the surrounding mountains at the top. After having lunch and taking some time to relax we will hike back to Winding Stair Gap parking.

It will be a 9.6 mile round trip hike, with an elevation gain of 2080', culminating at 5220' high.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $94.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
