Looking ahead, while the weather doesn't look too promising, I'm chooseing Vickery Creek this week because they have some of the best draining trails after the rain. Even if it rains for days before, we can easily get in a good hike with minimal mud or standing water. We may need to bring our rain jackets but hopefully we can hike! Come join us for our Monday morning hike! We've picked a location with plenty of parking because this week is Cobb County Spring Break and there could be a lot of others at the park. We never get tired of hiking at Vickery Creek. It offers so much with a variety of trails and routes, beautiful views of the water along the creeks and at the dam, and occasional glimpses of wildlife. We'll keep a moderate pace through the trails on this one, with pauses for water and catching our breath when needed. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE PARKING AT RIVERSIDE PARK! There's plenty of free parking here and bathrooms are available! We'll cross the street and enter the Vickery Creek CNRA from here. The trails at Vickery are not entirely easy. There are some hills as well as trails with roots and rocks, but with a moderate pace, it will be manageable for folks who have been handling D1 hikes or easierr D2's. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to use the bathroom, check in, and do intros. | |||||||||
