Itinerary:

Let's beat the heat and the crowds with an invigorating 7-mile loop hike at Kennesaw Mountain, starting and ending at the Pigeon Hill Parking Lot on Burnt Hickory Road. There was plenty of parking available at this lot when we did this hike last month.

We'll cross the mountain at the beginning of the hike and head toward the Visitors Center, getting the hardest part out of the way early. We'll then loop around the mountain on the Camp Brumby Trail and take the New Salem Church Trail back to the parking lot.

This event is rated a D3. Elevation gain will be in excess of 1,000 feet, and our moving pace will be brisk at about 3 mph on average. We'll stay together on the hike.

If you're interested in something harder that morning, Chuck is leading a 10-mile hike at KM at a different location that's rated a D5.
