Itinerary:

Join me for one of my favourite hikes to Siler Bald, standing at 5216' high, the bald offers  unparalleled 360 degree views of the surrounding North Carolina countryside and is well worth the effort.

We will start from Winding Stair Gap on US-64 and start our slow but steady climb to Siler Bald. we will spend an hour here eating lunch and taking in the sights of Wayah Bald in the distance.

The elevation gain on this hike is approximately 2080' and is suitable for those wanting to move up from D3 to D4; I will be hiking at an easy to moderate pace and will be stopping a few times to allow the group to catch up.

  • headlamp (just in case)
  • hiking boots/shoes
