Itinerary:

Let's do a loop up to Springer Mountain and back. We will start the hike from the top of the falls and hike the AT Approach to Springer Mountain. We'll enjoy our BYO lunch at the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail before heading back down. On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few minutes to enjoy a welcome cup of coffee and nice clean restroom. We usually luck into some homemade desserts, too. (Bring some tip money for the friendly, hard-working staff at the Hike Inn). After our break we will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the parking lot.

Note, this is NOT a beginner hike. Those with insufficient AOC D4/D5 experience may be moved to the wait list.

Required Items to Bring:

Good hiking shoes or boots
Water bottle/hydration pack (at least 2 litres!) and snack/light lunch
Hiking gear appropriate for the trail and weather conditions

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. Left to the Top of the Falls parking area. We will meet at the trailhead near the restrooms.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
