Itinerary:

From the West Palisades parking lot we will walk in the Paces Mill area for about four miles, of which about two miles will be on paved trails or sidewalks. After returning to the parking lot we will cross to the other side of the Chattahoochee over the Cobb Parkway bridge. After walking about 1.5 miles on a well marked trail, we will get to the East Palisades parking lot at the Whitewater Creek entrance. We will then walk a loop that first follows the shores of the Chattahoochee River and then climbs the cliffs above it, offering a spectacular view of the rapids below. After returning to the East Palisades parking lot we will get back to West Palisades the same way we came. We will have lunch on the trail.

Water, good walking shoes, trail snacks and picnic lunch

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From downtown Atlanta drive north on I 75 to Exit 256. At the bottom of the ramp take a left on Mt. Paran, and an immediate right on US 41/Cobb Parkway. Proceed 1 mile to the Chattahoochee River. Immediately after crossing the river take a right to the parking lot. We will meet at the fee paying station.

Notes:

The parking fee is $5.00 per car.
