Please join us for a mid-week Fall hike at Yonah Mountain in nearby Cleveland, GA. Our efforts hopefully will yield spectacular views of the colorful valley below.

Although rated a D3, this is a challenging hike with about 1500 feet of elevation gain in a short distance, with some rugged terrain along the way. Our pace will be moderate (averaging about 2.5 mph), and we'll take a break at the summit to enjoy a snack and the scenery.

The duration of the event accounts for the carpool drive time as well as an optional lunch stop at Yonah Burger that your trip leaders plan to do. If driving direct, please be at the trailhead by 9:45am. If meeting at the carpool, please be there by 8:30am for an 8:40 departure.

This hike is not appropriate for beginners or inexperienced AOCers.

The Yonah Mountain trailhead is located just north of Cleveland, GA off Chambers Road. (There's a short drive on a gravel road, but it's usually well maintained and even low-clearance vehicles do fine.)

The GPS coordinates are 34.637322, -83.725648 (N 34°38.24, W 83°43.54).

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
