Itinerary:

The Duncan Ridge Trail runs from Springer Mountain to Blood Mountain on a roller coaster of peaks and valleys and is considered one of the most remote trails in Georgia.

Join me as I start at Mulkey Gap and make my way to the intersection of the Coosa Backcountry Loop at Coosa Bald. We will be climbing three mountains on the way: West Wildcat Knob, Buckeye Knob and Coosa Bald. We should be getting some winter views as we walk along the ridge line. We will eat lunch on Coosa Bald before we retrace our steps back to the cars. We will be moving on the high side of moderate with an average rate of 2.75 mph.

This is a difficult, high end D5 hike. Recent D5 experience is required!

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $64.80 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
