Itinerary:

We will begin our walk at the end of the Pine Mountain Trail, next to the TV tower. After a few hundred feet we will start to follow the Beaver Pond trail, crossing GA 190 about 1 mile from our starting point. After a further 0.9 miles we will rejoin the PMT and cross GA 190 again. The trail now meanders over a pleasant and varied forest landscape, with a few easy climbs. After a few miles we will start walking upstream along a creek. We will cross this creek and one of its tributaries a total of 12 times, but most of the crossings have bridges. A couple of miles before we get back to our cars there is a shallow pool fed by a small waterfall. This is a good place to stop and have a snack.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

Proceed South on Interstate 85 until exit 41. Continue south on Alt US 27/US 29. After Moreland, US 29 will branch right. Stay on GA 85 (Alt US 27). There are signs to Pine Mountain both on the interstate and on Alt US27. The TV antenna is at the intersection of GA 85 and GA 190 and is very visible from the highway.
