This event is dependent on state and local government direction and AOC Leadership direction.

We will adhere to any social distancing directives that may be in place.

This is a fitness hike intended for hikers and nemophilists who enjoy hiking outdoors at a fast pace - not for beginner/casual hikers or those expecting a casual stroll in the woods. You will be expected to keep up with the group pace while traversing up an down several hills.

The hike is approximately 10 miles round trip with very few rest breaks.

We will meet and start at the top of the falls at 8:30 AM (Plan to arrive a few minutes early for introductions). From the trailhead, we will hike the AT Approach trail for 4 miles, turn onto the Len Foote Trail, and hike by the Len Foote Hike Inn. We will take a short break near the Hike Inn (We will not be going inside the Inn.) and continue on the Len Foote Trail back to the top of the falls parking lot.

We will finish our peregrination on the trails early afternoon.

- Notes -

It costs $5 per car to get into the park, unless one person in the car has a pass.

No carpool - we will meet at the top of the falls parking lot @8:30 AM.

We will be social distancing and will not be going inside the Hike Inn facilities or taking a break there.

If you're not 100% sure you can keep up with the group hiking pace, please do not sign up for this event. There are other AOC weekday and weekend hikes which might be more suitable for your hiking abilities/pace.

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. Once in the park, follow the signs to the parking above the waterfalls.
