You pick which week/section you would like to attend. The list is at the bottom of the post. The plan is to do a 70 mile section of the Appalachian Trail each week. The crew for each week has the option of daypacking or backpacking or a mix of both trekking types. I will have a guidebook and a phone app with the latest trail information as to lodging and shuttles. These services are customarily booked a day in advance based on the latest read of where you are on the trail. My guidebook has a larger assortment of hiker hostel opportunities but here is a decent list: https://thetrek.co/appalachian-trail/appalachian-trail-hostels-listing/?mc_cid=c7e9dd5454&mc_eid=3911dc3d34 Road crossings are typically available every 4 - 15 miles but in cases such as the Smokys and Southwest Virginia can be as far apart as 20 - 32 miles. In any case, the opportunity exists to resupply every 1-2 days which can also involve in-town lodging and breakfast/dinner. Daily mileage will vary with road crossings and weather. While 70 miles in 7 days suggests daily mileage of 10 days actual mileage will vary and one needs to be physically prepared for a mix of D6 days with possible "zero days" or "nero days". A D6 day is typically followed by a zero or nero day for recovery. Week by week is listed in a paragraph near the bottom of the post. | ||||||||
