Itinerary:

Hike Plan: We will meet by the restrooms as you enter the Parking Lot. After introductions we will leave the parking lot, follow the sidewalk across the Chattahoochee and enter the Interstate North parking lot. This adds about a quarter of a mile each way to the hike. We will than follow the gravel road to the trail on the left after passing the swampy area, we will then zigzag along the trail in a northwest direction than turn northeast following the trail along the top of the ridge. We will than turn right going southeast until we come to the gravel road and proceed to the Columns Drive Parking Lot with restrooms. From here we will follow a combination of the gravel road and the trail back to the Interstate North Parking Lot cross the Chattahoochee again and proceed to the 1-mile loop trail at the end of the Powers Island Parking Lot. 

7:50 am for a restroom stop and introductions. We will start promptly at 8:00 am.


Required Items to Bring:

• Wear comfortable Clothing Layers and rugged Hiking Boots or Shoes appropriate for the weather - also, if showers are forecast bring light emergency rain gear.
• Hydrate well prior to the event and we suggest carrying about a liter of Water to drink along the way and perhaps a piece of fruit or other light snack.

Address: 5450 Interstate North Parkway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

From I-285 W, take exit 22 for New Northside Dr toward Northside Dr/Powers Ferry Rd. Turn right onto New Northside Dr. Continue onto Interstate N Pkwy for about 1 mile and the parking entry is on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee River.

From I-285 E, take exit 22 for New Northside Dr toward Northside Dr/Powers Ferry Rd. Turn left onto New Northside Dr. Continue onto Interstate N Pkwy for about 1 mile and the parking entry is on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee River.

There is a $5.00 per day parking fee for use of the NRA.
