Itinerary:

Please join me for an early morning hike at West Palisades - we will all meet in the parking lot at Akers Mill.  some minor elevation throughout the hike, one pretty big hill but we'll take any hill slow and easy.  Hike will be   approximately 2 1/4 hours and we should get in just about 5 1/2 miles.  Not a super fast hike.  

There is a $5.00 parking fee - those that have an annual pass from CRNRA you are good to go, just display pass in your car.  Those that don't have annual can pay at the kiosk in the parking lot - my understanding is that they don't take cash any longer - there should be a code that you scan with your phone and pay electronically. or you can purchase online  https://www.nps.go v/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm

COVID-19 - please be respectful to AOC members and other hikers on the trails - keep social distance at least six feet between yourself and your fellow hikers.  Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event  they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.

HIke will begin promptly at 8:30 - there are no restrooms at this location.

From eastbound Interstate 285
Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
Right on Northside Drive to Powers Ferry Road.
Right approximately 1.5 miles to Akers Drive
Turn left at the wooden "Water Wheel"
Drive up the hill on Akers Drive passing apartment homes untill you see the brown CRNRA sign on the left at the drive to the parking lot. Turn left at the sign and drive through to the parking lot.  If you reach an apartment complex at the end of Akers Drive, you have gone too far. Backtrack to the CRNRA driveway

From westbound Interstate 285
Take exit 22, New Northside Drive, Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
Straight to second traffic light.
Left on Northside Drive to Powers Ferry Road.
Right approximately 1.5 miles to Akers Drive
