Itinerary: | |||||||
You can't go wrong with Jones Bridge, and even though this is a shorter D1 that is good for beginners, it still provides a solid aerobic workout and nice scenery. Perhaps we will get lucky and see a heron, or more likely some deer. I usually see them here, especially in the evenings. The route is about 3.2 mi, with 260' of total ascent, and includes the beautiful river views and some short hills. The overall pace will moderate. Everyone can take the hills at their own pace. We will wait to recollect the group at the top, although the biggest climb is just about 100', so nothing major. There is a $5 parking fee if you don't have an annual parking pass. You can buy one at the trailhead kiosk, or purchase in advance at: https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/2626 | |||||||
