Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue. This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary. | |||||||
Itinerary: | |||||||
A group of volunteers recently cleared the Hickory Creek Trail in the Cohutta Wilderness, let's hike it before nature takes it back! This hike will give you the full wilderness experience; beavers, bears, blowdowns, creeks, copperheads,rivers, rock-hopping and Ronny J! We will enjoy a 15 mile trek through the wilderness with all of this and more. Water shoes are a must on this hike as we will be fording the Conasauga River at Bray Field as well as several smaller creeks. Long pants would be a good ideas as well. Recent D5 experience is required for this difficult hike, underqualified adventurers may be moved to the waiting list!
