Itinerary:

 

WoW!  I’m so excited about this scenic venture at Sope Creek!  Just Imagine how beautiful nature will activate all your senses!  Hear roaring creek water over falls & around creek boulders!  See ancient mill ruins!  Loop a beautiful Calm & Peaceful Pond!  We are going to Seize & Capture every moment at a moderate speed, most of the way.  A little more speed in the level straightaways.  & Of course, our usual amazing Individual Story Sharing!

So, join me for this morning hike at Sope Creek (Paper Mill Parking Lot). The hike will start at 10:00 am and we will hike about 5 miles starting at the parking lot. We will hike to the northeast side of the creek (both sides along the mill ruins) and follow the trail along the creek until the trail turns west following Fox Creek until the trail turns north returning to the parking lot via Sibley Pond. We will meet at the trail head for introductions.

There are no restrooms at this location.

How to Get There:

Address 3760 Paper Mill Road, Marietta, GA 30067 (this address is approximate) 

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • Left For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
  • Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.

From westbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • North For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
  • Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.

 

Do not leave any valuables in your car including the trunk since vandalism has happened in the past.

 

$5 cash for a daily parking pass - OR if you have the annual CRNRA pass just display in your vehicle and you are good to go.
