Itinerary:

Let's go hike some of the trails at Red Top Mountain State Park!

We will park at the far end of the old lodge parking lot (now the visitor center and gift store).  The hike will follow the Homestead and Sweetgum Trails which offer some diverse scenery winding through the woods and along some of the inlet shores of Lake Allatoona.  We will also take the short, out and back White Tail trail to the end of a little peninsula which has a nice place for a break with great views of the lake.

There are a few hills along the Homestead Trail which rolls along the lakeshore and higher into the forest above, but we will be going at a comfortable pace for everyone (about 2.5 mph).  Total distance should be about 7 miles.

After the hike - we'll drive to Red Top Beach for a lunch picnic and swim.  Bathrooms are available at this location.
