Itinerary:

Let’s start our morning off with a refreshing hike around the newer and non-tourist side of Sawnee Mountain.  These trails are named Ridgeline, Mountainside, Hilltop & Church Trails.  We will hike the five mile clockwise loop starting at the beginning of the Ridgeline trail.  We will stay on the outer loop and merge on to the Mountainside Trail and then finish up staying on the outside loop with the Hilltop Trail.  To get the additional five miles of distance and elevation we will also double-up part of the Mountainside Trail and double-up the Church Trail.  Please see the AllTrails link in the Notes Section.  If we are lucky we may see deer, turtles, wild turkeys, the frequently seen barefoot hiker on the Ridgeline Trail or help lost people looking for the view at Indian Seats.  

We will meet near the restrooms at the end of the free parking lot.  This parking lot is on the opposite side of Tribble Gap road to the popular Indian Seats Trail parking lot.  The address in the directions section will take you to the parking lot.  

Please arrive 15 minutes early for introductions.  This is a D4 hike with 10 miles of distance and a total elevation gain of 1700 ft.  Previous D4 AOC experience is required.  If you are new to AOC or your comprable hiking experience is not from the AOC, please indicate it in the note section upon registering.  Failure to do so may result in being moved to the waiting list until suitability is provided.
