Welcome to West Cobb!

Green Meadows Preserve is both a community garden and an Eastern Bluebird nesting area dedicated to regrowing the at-risk Blue Bird population. Twenty-five Blue Bird nest boxes have been sponsored and placed along the 3 mile trail within the 112 acres of open pasture, meadows and trees.

This will be an excellent hike for beginners, as the trails are grassy and soft throughout the preserve, and the pace will be leisurely. Virtually no elevation gain.

We'll pass the community garden where folks rent space to grow flowers and vegetables. We'll also see a close-by honey-bee nesting area - - perfect for polinating the plants in the garden.

Dogs are permitted, but MUST be kept on leash!

Event Directions:

The physical address is 3780 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA.

Drive west on Whitlock Avenue through the Kennesaw Battlefield, staying on that road as it becomes Dallas Highway. The Green Meadows Preserve is about 15 miles from the East Cobb area.

Drive west on Dallas Highway till you reach the intersection of Casteel / Old Hamiilton Road, Marietta.

Turn right at the light and drive a short way down Old Hamilton Road till you can turn left onto the driveway to the Green Meadows parking lot. The lot is at the entrance to the community garden. We'll gather there.
