If you love nature and bikes, join us for a fun ride along the Greenway starting in Roswell and turning around at Marconi Drive (16 mile ride) or Union Hall Park (21 mile ride). This is not a race, so don't worry about speed. Just enjoy the scenery and the company. Also, don't go over 15 mph or you might get a ticket from the Greenway police.

If you want more of a challenge, choose the 21 mile round trip ride to Union Hall. If you want less, choose to ride the 16 mile ride to Marconi Drive (8 miles out and 8 miles back). It's up to you. Just remember that you have to come back the same way you went. We'll try to stick together as a group, unless someone is feeling adventurous and wants to zoom ahead.

To get AOC credit for this ride, you have to ride at least 16 miles and check out at the end of the ride with the trip leader at the parking lot where we started. Otherwise, we'll assume you got lost or abducted by aliens.

We will start our ride at 9AM so please show up a few minutes early for introductions. We will meet in front of the restroom area.

WHAT IS A GREENWAY?

A greenway is a linear park. A greenway is about people and the land they love. It is about conservation. It is about recreation and alternative transportation. It is about environmental education. It is about connecting the quality of life Alpharetta now has with the future plan that will help maintain that quality of life. Our greenway is an investment in the future of Alpharetta...an Alpharetta that is green, with open spaces for people as well as natural areas for plants and animals.

The Big Creek Greenway is primarily a 12-foot wide concrete path that meanders through the deciduous woods along Big Creek. The greenway offers an ideal setting for walking, jogging, inline roller blading, and biking.
