Itinerary:

 

 

We will meet at Red Top Mountain Trading Post, where the lollipop loop Homestead Trail (Yellow Trail) begins. This is the TRADING POST and not the visitor center.

 

We will start ar the trailhead and hike the 5.5 mile Homestead Loop. We hike in about one mile through a beautiful and well worn trail and then cross over the road to continue onto a 3.5 mile loop with beautiful views of Lake Allatoona.

There is minimal elevation, not reaching much higher than 500 feet but there are a few sections with these short but slightly strenuous climbs for those who have not completed D2 hikes.

 

The Red Top Mountain Trading Post is located at 659 Red Top Mountain Road Southeast, Cartersville GA and we will meet at around 9:50 for introductions.  We will leave promptly at 10:00 am.

Please note: Red Top Mountain State Park charges a $5 entry fee per vehicle, unless you have the annual State Park parking pass, which can be purchased at the trading post.
