Itinerary:

Please join me for a fask hike on the Yellow Trail at Redtop Mountain State Park.

Update 8/17: elevation was 1648 feet as observed and verified by two trip leaders so this has been changed to a D4.

We will meet at Redtop Mountain TRADING POST where the lollipop loop homestead trail (the yellow trail) begins.

We will start at the trailhead and travel about one mile through a well worn trail of lush greens. We will then cross over the road and continue onto a 3 mile loop with beautiful views of lake Allatoona. We will do this loop twice (for a total of six miles here) and then head back the last mile to the trading post.

There are just a few climbs over 500 feet but our pace is going to be 3- 3.1mph and it is an 8.5 mile hike so please be aware.

The Red Top Mountain trading post is located at 659 Red Top Mountain Road SE, Cartersville, GA.

We will meet at around 6:20 am to leave promptly at 6:30 am. This way we can beat the heat!

 

Please Note that there is a $5.00 entry parking fee cover, unless you have the annual  GA State parking pass, which can be purchased at the trading post.

From the South:

Drive 75 North.

Turn RIGHT at exit 285 for Redtop Mountain Road and keep RIGHT at the fork.

Follow signs for Red Top Mountain State Park.

Merge onto Red Top Mountain Rd SE and Drive approximately 1.9 miles to:

659 Red Top Mountain Road SE, Cartersville GA 30121
