Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

We will head out bright and early to maximize the day. This climb is planned for Sand Rock in Leesburg, AL, but it is weather dependent. The event is scheduled in the Central time zone where Leesburg is. That is 10:00am Atlanta Time.

Everyone will need to have their own shoes, harness, and belay device, and helmet. You will need to know how to top-rope belay. You must have attended at least a few indoor events recently. You should be working on climbing at a level that is approximately equivalent to Stone Summit 5.9+ or higher.

If you are an experienced outdoor climber, have your own rope, and are willing to allow others to climb on it, please contact the trip leader(s). The size of the trip will expand to include you. An additional rope is the ONLY way this trip will expand its maximum group size.

**Pet's are required to be kept on a leash at all times (See park rules on their web site).
**You do NOT have to stay the whole time.

Notes:

I'm probably going to be camping there the night before. I purchased an annual pass for $45 along with that camping is half price. They have everything you need in the little store including firewood.


* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.

$7 for a car load/ $15 for a van load
Just pay at the front of the park at the office when you arrive. 
**Try to buddy up on the car ride to save $$ on the fees.
