Sunday Stroll at Lost Corner Preserve

Lost Corner Preserve is a beautiful enclave of 24 wooded acres right off the intersection of Riverside /Darylrymple Rd and Brandon Mill Road.  Within that 24 acres is a trail system of about a mile, which winds through lush woods, containing the home of countless trees.  The trails are easy on the feet, and right now, there are plenty of Joro spiders building their intricate webs along the trails.  (Never fear:  the spiders are well off the trails and are virtually harmless, anyway.) There is an old historic cottage on the property as well as an enclosed bee hive area, and a community garden.  The Friends of Lost Corners Preserve are working hard to improve the property with wildflowers and plants.  It's a very peaceful trail to walk.

Here's a description of Lost Corner taken from their website:  Located on 24 acres of beautiful woodlands and nature trails, Lost Corner Preserve is a destination for nature lovers and history buffs. The property dates back to mid-1800’s and was once a working farm that has had only two owners since Native Americans inhabited the land. Lost Corner Preserve is located at the corner of Brandon Mill and Dalrymple Roads. The park features, a community garden, greenhouse, apiary, walking trails and renovated cottage.

We'll take our time to enjoy the scenery as we cover the trails and then double back to get in close to 3 miles.  Our pace will be comfortably moderate . . . a true D1 for both distance and pace.  There is very little elevation change throughout the park.
