Let’s get our hike on today! I don't know about you, but I need a planned event so that I will get out and get moving! So...get a motivating start to your day with me at Kennesaw Mountain National Park. We’ll start at the Visitor’s Center and hike approximately 6 miles out and back heading over Kennesaw Mountain, Little Kennesaw Mountain, and Pigeon Hill to Burnt Hickory Road. That’s six climbs for a total elevation gain of a little over 1600 feet. The terrain navigation is mixed with some dirt trails, paved paths, rocky forest, and wide, grooved granite outcrops. The views near the summit extend to the distant skyline of Atlanta and possibly Stone Mountain. While this hike is scenic, it is not leisurely or for beginners. If you don't start with me and finish the entire hike in the allotted time frame, you WILL NOT get credit for the hike! Strong experience with D3 hikes and above is highly recommended. We will probably spread out based on your level of experience, but you should be prepared to hike at a moderate to fast pace in order to complete this hike in 2-2.5 hours max. We will start promptly at 8:30 am so plan to arrive a little early to check in and meet the group. You can park in the main Visitor's Center parking lot or at the Overflow parking lot on old US Hwy 41. Please allow a few minutes to walk from old US 41 parking lot to the visitor's center if you park there. You can cancel up until 6:00 am on the day of the hike. If you need to drop after that, please call or text me at (678) 764-8516. Failure to do so will result in a "no show". Entrance Fees: Kennesaw Mountain NBP Entrance Fee - Per Vehicle Daily Fee - $5.00 This can be purchased online (see link below), at the automated fee machine located at the Old 41 Overflow Lot or the Visitor Center parking lot, or inside the Visitor Center between 9 am and 5 pm daily. Purchases can be made with a valid debit/credit card only, no cash accepted. | |||||||

Did You Know?“This is hallowed ground. For two terrible weeks in the summer of 1864, thousands of Americans fought and bled and died here. Honor their sacrifices. Walk reverently in their footsteps. The fierce struggle they waged here not only helped decide the outcome of America’s Civil War. It shaped the fate of a nation, and the destiny of generations yet unborn.”
