2023-11-05 Hike & Run Amicalola Falls to Owens Overlook - New date on Sunday

We’ll have beautiful fall colors and mountain scenery to enjoy.

We’ll go Hiking & Trail-Running for an excellent cardio day.

We’ll try to keep the group together as much as possible.

We’ll meet and start from the Amicalola Falls State Park at the top of the falls.

We'll follow AT Approach Trail to Springer Mountain, the Applachian Trail (AT) Southern Terminus. We’ll continue to go about 0.2 miles to the intersection of Benton Mackaye Trail (BMT). We’ll turn onto the BMT, and go about 1.4 miles to reach Owen’s Overlook for a snack break. After the sanck break, we’ll retrace the same route to get back to our cars.

We will NOT take the Len Foote Hike Inn trail to the lodge.

We'll maintain an average 3+ mph fast pace. Recent D5+ experience is required. Stops will be short for water/ bio breaks, and a snack break at the Owen's Overlook turning point. 

Georgia State Park requires $5 entry/ parking fee, or your annual pass.

Please only register if you are comfortable going long distance at a pace averaging 3+ mph in the remote mountains environment, and have recent D5+ experience.

If your experience is not from the club, please include it in a note when you register. TL reserves the right to remove registrants without sufficient track record for the safety of everyone. We encourage our members to actively participate with joyful experience, and most importantly to stay healthy and safe at the end of our event.
