This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

This will be a moderate version of the Rocky Face Loop, and only go out ~ 4 miles, then return. We will go clockwise on the loop to the viewpoint(s), maintaining a steady pace in the mid-moderate range, 2.25-2.5 mph. Another day we'll hike the whole loop.

I've been looking forward to visiting this ridge since I noticed it on the map, and others recommend it, so I think it will be a great day to view the valley. The trailhead does have a bathroom, apparently.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early.

For anyone driving from Decature/East Atlanta, you can car pool with us. Email me to arrange that instead of driving to Acworth carpool.

Follow I-75 N to US-41 N/US-76 W in Dalton. Take exit 336 from I-75 N, 50 min (58.5 mi)

Take Crow Valley Rd to Crow Vly Rd NW, 6 min (3.4 mi)

Use any lane to turn left onto US-41 N/US-76 W, 0.6 mi

Turn right onto Willowdale Rd, 0.3 mi

Turn left onto Crow Valley Rd ; 1.8 mi

Continue onto Crow Vly Rd NW; Destination will be on the left. 0.7 mi
