Itinerary:
Wildflower and Photography hike to the pocket at Pigeon Mountain. We will go at a slow pace for this 7 mile hike to view wildflowers and take photos. This area has a vast variety of flowers blooming around this time of year. We will stop and take photos along the way. Feel free to bring any photography equipment that you are able to carry. This hike is not intended to be fast for fitness. We will stop and enjoy the flowers. There is a waterfall and swim hole along the way.  Bring your bathing suit if you are brave enough to endure the cold water.

9. Merge onto I-75 N. i Map  |  Avoid
 
  10. Take the GA-136 exit, EXIT 320, toward RESACA/LAFAYETTE. 0.3 mi Map  |  Avoid
 
11. Turn LEFT onto GA-136. 6.6 mi Map  |  Avoid
 
12. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto SUGAR VALLEY RD NW/GA-136. Continue to follow GA-136. 14.6 mi Map  |  Avoid
 
13. Turn LEFT onto GA-151/GA-136. 1.4 mi Map  |  Avoid
 
14. Turn RIGHT onto GA-136/E GA-136. Continue to follow GA-136. 4.0 mi Map  |  Avoid
 
15. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto E VILLANOW ST/GA-193. 0.4 mi Map  |  Avoid
then take Ga 193 west from LaFayette to Davis Crossroads; turn left onto Hogjowl Rd (5.5 Miles); just past Mt. Hermon Baptist, slow way down (you can't see to turn till you are nearly past the turn!) and turn left onto Pocket Rd, which soon turns to gravel, and go till you can't go any farther. Park.
 go west from LaFayette on Hwy 193 for 5.5 miles to Hog Jowl Road. Turn south on Hog Jowl Road and drive 2.5 miles to Pocket Road. ( Just past Mount Herman Baptist Church ) Pocket Road is a dead end; it is paved for about 0.5 mile and gravel for the next 0.8 mile. After fording a branch, you come to a gravel parking area on the left. The trailhead is the gate on the gravel road.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $104.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
