Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue. This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.
Itinerary: | |||||||
Turns out that for me, Wednesday, July 10 is going to be one of those "as-yet-unknown" kind of days. You see, I'm driving an as-yet-unknkown route to Charlotte, NC, eating in as-yet-unknown restaurants and spending the night in an as-yet-unknown hotel, all to watch two as-yet-unknown soccer teams battle it out for the semi-final place in the Copa America Cup. So it's entirely appropriate that I add an as-yet-unknown trail to the mix, right? BTW, AllTrails says that this trail is "...Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 56 min to complete. This is a popular trail for running and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime." Nice! So, the plan is to start early and walk the 2.5 mile Peachtree Park Trail loop at a brisk pace (3 to 3.5 mph = 17.28 to 20 min./mile) TWO TIMES, for a total of 5 miles. Beginners are welcome, however, if you have mobility issues, are recovering from injury, or prefer a slow pace, please sit this one out!
