This is not a hike for a beginner.  To qualify, you must have:

1. recently (last 2 weeks) kept pace with a D2 group doing 3.0 mph and be willing to keep pace at 3.0 mph with the group on this hike.

2. recently (last 2 weeks) kept pace with a D2 group doing a 600 foot elevation gain hike

You will be moved to wait list if you have not met the written requirements or the event is full.

For this hike, we will accomplish --

Avg. Speed: 3.2 mph (Fast)

Terrain: RUGGED; rugged creek banks and stepping stones with 18 creek crossings; bird area with wet grass and overgrowth

Elevation Gain:  466 feet

We will follow Mulberry Creek through a shaded forest and cross the Creek on stones 18 times

If the creek happens to be high, we might even get our feet wet.

Normally, the Creek hike is a "lariet" through the Hyde Farm County Park with the "noose" in Johnson Ferry North of the CRNRA.

However, temporarily, there is a construction fence obstacle so the lariot is currently a Y.
