Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue. This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

7S7W = 7 Sunrises in 7 Weeks! WEEK 6 - SUNRISE: 07:17 AM Calling all Early Birds! This "7 Sunrises in 7 Weeks" series of hikes around ATL has a three-fold purpose: 1. Beat the summer heat, 2. Catch a spectacular sunrise, and 3. Get your daily workout in before breakfast. So, what's not to like? Series #6 - Pine Mountain: We'll start bright and early on the West side of the Mountain, make our happy way up to the summit in time for the sunrise, ooh and aah as the glowing orb appears over the horizon (fingers crossed for only high level clouds), hike down the east side to the Cooper's Furnace trailhead parking lot, then back up to the summit via the NE trail, and back down to the Western parking lot. Ta daa! DISCLAIMER: This is a moderately strenuous, brisk hike (2.5-2.7 miles per hour = 22 to 25 minute/mile) with 1312 feet of elevation gain. So, if you have mobility issues, are recovering from injury, or prefer a slower pace, please sit this one out!
