Itinerary:

Spectacular mountain views and scenic hiking trails make Amicalola Falls one of Georgia's most popular state parks. At 729 feet, the falls claim the title of the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast.

For this hike, we’ll be taking the AT Approach Trail all the way down to Nimblewill Gap, return to the cut-off to the Hike Inn and returning via the Len Foote route, with a total elevation gain of approximately 2,530 feet. The pace will be moderate, with several planned stops for water and regrouping. A highlight of the journey is a 30-minute lunch break at the Hike Inn, offering a chance to rest and enjoy one of the most iconic spots along the way!

Important Note:
Participation requires recent D4 hiking experience with the AOC. As this is a group hike, maintaining a moderate speed and staying together is essential. This hike may not be suitable for those who prefer a significantly faster or slower pace.

If it's determined that a participant lacks the required experience, they will be moved to the waitlist. However, if additional hiking experience is provided and space remains available, they may be moved back onto the list.

We’ll start from the parking lot above the falls (near the bathrooms) promptly at 9:00 am. Please be on time. There is a $5.00 parking fee per vehicle. You can pay the parking fee at the visitors center, if you'd like. If the parking lot is full, there usually is ample parking by the Lodge. You just have to walk down the trail to meet us.
