Itinerary:

Join me as I finish my hike on the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail!

We’ll start our hike at Dick’s Creek Gap around 9am headed NOBO on the Appalachian Trail toward the Georgia/North Carolina state line. We’ll hike approximately 4.5 miles (1,600’ ascent; 1,160’ descent) to Plum Orchard Shelter. We’ll set up camp at Plum Orchard Shelter, take a break and have lunch. After lunch, we’ll lighten our load and begin our hike to Bly Gap near the GA/NC Border. We’ll hike approximately 4.4 miles (Ascent 1,440’; Descent 720’). Once at Bly Gap, we’ll rest and have a snack before heading back to Plum Orchard Shelter. We’ll turn around and hike 4.4 miles back (Ascent 720’; Descent 1,440’). Today we’ll hike approximately 13.3 miles (Ascent 3,760’; Descent 3,320’).

When we wake up, we’ll have some breakfast, pack up and hike SOBO 4.5 miles (Ascent 1,160’’; Descent 1,600’) back to Dick’s Creek Gap.
