Itinerary:

It's Fall and time to go backpacking.  We'll start at Woody Gap and spend the night at the Woods Hole Shelter, about 1.25 miles from the summit of Blood Mountain.  From Woods Hole, we will day hike to the top of Blood Mountain.  It's about 7.5 miles from Woody Gap to Woods Hole.  There are some decent climbs and descents, with a total of 2450 feet in elevation gain on the ascents, and about 1100 feet of elevation loss on the descents to Blood. On the way out, we will have to regain that 1100 feet of elevation loss, much of it coming near the end as we make our way back to Woody Gap.

I've selected Woods Hole as our campsite because we can have fires there.  Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.  There are also bear cables and a bear box for food storage.

Please bring layers and at least two liters of water.  I will vet people who sign up for this hike, so be prepared to let me know your relative experience doing similar type hikes.
